I just installed the latest version today. I started with the portable version, then installed the setup version, and they both have the same issue. I am running Windows 11 Pro, have a few things installed that may be an issue: Phone Link, Acronis Workstation, VMWare, Microsoft Subsystem for Linux, 2 Nvme, 3 hard drives(2 of which in a storage pool). 7800x3d, 32GB RAM.
First, portable ran for about 30 minutes on its' startup "quick scan." Once the interface appeared I went ahead and chose Deep Scan, because I was already invested in the long haul anyway, but it took less than 5 minutes. I then chose MakeMKV for uninstall. It ran for several minutes, I forget now, maybe 20, then failed. "Out of Memory." After that the interface continued to show files, folders, and registers keys it was scanning, but task manager showed it was no longer doing anything. Speaking of TM, it showed about 6% CPU while running and maybe about 150MB RAM usage, definitely less than 200.
Installed Setup version. Same long quick scan. Same deep scan, but a bit longer by a few more minutes. The uninstall did the same thing.
Reopened and skipped the deep scan. Quick scan was only a few minutes this time. Now the uninstall ran for an hour and the RAM usage rose to 750 MB before throwing the same error.
Finally see the portable apps option. I selected every box there except checking for leftovers. Restarted. QS about 90 seconds. Now I am seeing service_process.exe using 15% CPU, it is in an Acronis folder, but it doesn't last long, about a minute. Uninstalr now surpassing 1GB RAM usage, stays at 6.0-6.2% CPU, pushing a single core to about 60%.
I'm out of time, I cannot work anymore on this today.... just crashed again. 1311 MB, 0% CPU.
