Some days ago the new CCleaner 7 has been published.
They have destroyed it!
This is your chance! Make it better and show the people how good the jv16 powertools are!

I'm only the developer of jv16 PowerTools. You, the users, are deciding whether jv16 PowerTools dies or lives. When was the last time you recommended it to your friends or posted about it in social media? If there are users for the program, I will develop it. But the sad fact is that the number of users have been on a steady decline for the last 10 years.

I would certainly love to recommend JV16 over CCleaner but as JV16 doesn’t work well on my PC (the problems have been reported here) I can’t.

We only can recommend software that is fit for the current time. I love(d) jv16 but currently i don't use it anymore. There's nothing new, there are almost never updates or new features. It feels(!) the same like in Win7 times. So why should we recommend it? How CAN we recommend it? It's always up to the developers to keep their software interesting for the costumers.

Sounds like a chicken and egg problem. I don't see the point in investing more time into developing software that users don't want to recommend. Users don't want to recommend a software that hasn't been updated in a while.

jv16 It's not a chicken and egg problem. It's ALWAYS up to the developer to keep his Software interesting and modern. What do you expect from customers? To buy and recommend oldfashioned software that is in worst case not working properly? You don't see the point in investing more time into developing software that users don't want to recommend.... we users don't see the point in recommending and buying outdated software. That has nothing to do with chicken and egg. It's up to YOU to eliminate bugs, to bring in new inventions and new features. It's up to YOU to keep your software interesting for the users. Then we WILL recommend you product. But be honest: Did/do you? No. Are there any (new) outstanding features? Where is the update you promised in april? Give us reasons to recommend it! Otherwise @[deleted] is absolutely right.... jv16 is dead. It's outdated, it's (for some users) buggy and you stopped developing it.

Then as I’ve mentioned previously the software is dead - confirmed imo with the devs comments here. It’ll never have updates & is not being worked on - so why would we suggest it.
I’m not giving any further time in trying to get the software to work on Win 11 if the dev isn’t bothered.

Are you referring to the bug in which if you install jv16 PowerTools to a non-standard installation path, the Initial Setup shows up on every run?

That's not what I mean. An update will be released for jv16 PowerTools in the near future.

gk1 Mine constantly froze during cleaning at a certain %. The program is useless to me.

JV16 works Great on my Windows 11 Pro also! It is a mighty fine program!!

In fact I reported two bugs - that was one the other was the program freezing on cleanup at a certain % & crashing the program.
But as you’re not interested in fixing bugs what’s the point in reporting them.
I’ve moved on to another program which is a shame as I prefer power tools but I will not stay with a program where reported bugs are ignored/brushed off & which suggests that the devs give an “I don’t care” attitude towards their customers (& powertools as it’s clear they’re working on other separate programs from PT). This is how I feel.

doctor9fan, I hope that I didn't make you upset in any way with my comment. I have been using JV16 for quite sometime on three computers with really no problems. But there is an issue with the System Cleaner where once in a while after the scanning process, it goes to the cleanup stage and freezes with the icon spinning round and round and will not finish the clean. So I restart JV16, do it again and then works fine. This is an occasional issue.

Does JV16 work on other pc's that you may have? You definitely have a unique issue. Good Luck with things!!

I'm afraid it's almost impossible to fix a bug that cannot be reproduced. It's not a question of me not being interested of fixing bugs, it is a question of what is feasible to do.

jv16 Me??? Too late, my friend.... much too late. I´m only watching the thread and discussing. It´s uninstalled, i´m not using it anymore since a long time. Reason? Written in the comments above. And exactly that´s the point why nobody recommends your product. Instead the people uninstall it and use other similar software. But only for nostalgic reasons: it often crashed, it often got frozen, it was outdated, and so on.
